about

Toronto born and Winnipeg raised, Malcolm-Jay (born Malcolm-Jamal Tesoro Wilson) is a producer and emcee who humbly adds an introspective element to traditional hip hop culture. Formerly a member of hip hop group The Happy Unfortunate, Malcolm-Jay is holding nothing back with the release of his first solo effort, the self-reflective EP Missed Connections. Earlier this year, he released his first music video Always Know, fully baring his humble and poetic rap style to the world. Feel-good party scenes contrast Jay rapping in a shadow-filled studio in an ode to those who contributed to his success, causing the listener to sit in their own self-reflection. With the rest of his tape building on the video’s sentiment, anticipate a mix of introspective joints ranging in emotion. Malcolm-Jay's Missed Connections is set for a June 10, 2016 release via URBNET and Soundcloud.
